I need this movie. Need it. I’m hoping it will be the “12 years a slave” of 2015.
But. I read the synopsis and I was wondering.
Are they going to include all of Alan Turning’s life *I don’t know if you can… ‘spoil’ the life of a very real someone but… consider yourself warned* ,or take the safe route and leave the homosexuality/charged for indecency/hormonal treatment out ?
Anyone knows ?
I know they are not taking the homosexuality out of it, and there’s no way they could leave the charged for indecency out as well. It would ruin the entire film and it’s authenticity. The charge for indecency was such a colossal, horrible part of Turing’s life but so crucial to the telling of his story. That’s why they are making this movie: to tell his story. I’m not sure when this movie ends (if it ends with his death/suicide or with his arrest) but I’m guessing they are not going to make him someone he wasn’t. Weinstein would not pay $7 million for a script leaving out such a crucial part of the man’s life, especially because it’s so important to history and teaches a significant lesson about how foolish the world was— for going against a man who so wisely helped his country and the world. There was controversy over Keira playing a possible love interest for Turing, but the creators made it clear after the introduction of this controversy that Turing is displayed as nothing other than the man that he was. Turing is homosexual in the film, just as he was. No need for Hollywood to alter that. It’s about time we have a movie that says, hey, this man is gay and he’s a hero. And he was treated badly because he was gay and that’s ridiculous and awful… and the world was ridiculous and awful and some people still are ridiculous and awful. And I believe that is going to be an important theme in the film. So, no, they cannot take that out. If they did end up doing that and sugarcoating it by saying, yes, he is gay and not commenting further in the movie, I don’t think it’d be Oscar worthy like they’re saying it will be.
I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER WHEN IS THE IMITATION GAME COMING OUT
okay but are we just not going to talk about the pizza delivery guy because he deserves the ‘i am delivering pizza to celebrities at the oscars and am not crying’ award which i personally would not have won
Aw I’m just so happy for Benedict. His career is really picking up and he deserves it so much.
